Press the green TV icon and  your iphone will recognize which TV show you are watching  by the audio provided; however, it cannot recognize commercials, so wait  until the program is back.

 After is recognize which TV show you are watching it will take you to the area where people are discussing the current show. Share your opinions and individuals in the forum can comment on your posts and vis versa.

* Gmail is supposedly starting to support Emoji. I have yet to have success. However, Emoji icons are available throught the iPhone’s OS (operating system). In non-geek talk you can use these icons anywhere the keyboard pops up i.e. Notes, Contacts. Warning once you try to sync or share data outside the iPhone’s OS the Emoji icons will probably be corrupted.

Ok so I won’t go into detail about the whole background of Emoji, here is the first part from the Wiki post to give you a basic idea:

“Emoji (絵文字^?) is the Japanese term for the picture characters or emoticons used in Japanese wireless messages and webpages. Originally meaning pictograph, the word literally means e “picture” + moji “letter”. If you are interested in reading more here is the Wiki link – EMOJI

Now to the meat and potatoes of this post! Just follow the few simple steps listed below and you’ll be rocking out with your Emoji out!

First, you need to Download Emoji Free iPhone Appfrom the App Store.

Next, open the app and click Awesome, let do it button at the bottom of the screen.

Once this finishes you are only a few steps away!!

Finally, navigate to the Settings App -> General  -> Keyboard -> International Keyboards -> Japanese

Move the switch to the ON position! Voila you have Emoji Icons!

To use the icons all you have to do is click on the globe to the left of the space bar and text away!

What can iRip transfer from your iPhone or iPod?

iRip can transfer pretty much everything to your computer:

• videos
• podcasts
• ringtones
• books
• photos
• contacts
• texts

Not only can you transfer music using an autorecovery mode, but you can also browse, preview, and play your music if you want to be more selective and not transfer over your Rick Astley collection.

What really set iRip apart for me was that it not only brings over you album art, but the metadata as well. What the hell is this guy talking about…metadata? I rate all my music, my library is pushing a little over 3000 songs. There is no way I would go back and rate 3000 songs again! So this feature was essential for me because I use smart playlists, i.e. My Top Rated playlist contains only songs that are rated 4 or 5 stars.

iRip costs $19.95 there is a free trial (download here), which is limited to like 100 songs or something. I think iRip is well worth it if you don’t backup your music, don’t have faith in the consistency of iTunes or your computer, don’t have an external hard drive, or recently purchased a new computer and want an easy way to transfer your iTunes library on to it. It is currently available for Macs and a PC version is slated for Summer 2011 (so sometime soon). One more thing…iRip’s customer support is f’ing awesome so if you ever have any issues you can just shoot them an email and they are super helpful!

Ok on to the highlights! This massive facility will be able to house a little over 12,000 employees in one building! This new HQ will be totally circular! Ask anyone in architecture how much harder and expensive it is to build something with no corners. If you don’t know anyone I can tell you its very, very hard and very, very expensive!

Another very cool feature is that most of the parking will be underground preserving the aesthetics of the campus and actually vastly improving on them adding more trees and a beautiful courtyard in the center. If you want the actual numbers  is to increase landscaping from the current 20% to a mind boggling 80%!

The last really cool thing (there are a ton more and you can watch the city council proposal video below to see everything) is that they are building among other things their own ‘power plant’ on the campus.

Why is this so cool?

Well instead of using the Cupertino power grid as its primary source of power and using the power plant or energy center as a backup.  will actually use the energy center as the primary means of powering the campus and Cupertino power grid as the back up!

The new Apple campus is slated to break ground next year and scheduled to be operational by 2015. Job’s heralds this architectural marvel as the ‘best HQ’ in the country and possibly the world. “Architecture students from around the world will come to Cupertino to see it…”

First, you will need to create a contact card for yourself. (If you have a Mac it is really easy to do in Address Book too)  You can do this by opening the Contacts app and pressing the Add contact button. It’s the exact same as adding someone else, excepts its your information hopefully you are falling me so far! Ok so from this contact card screen scroll down until you see Share Contact. Yup, you guess it, press this and bam you can share via MMS or Email! Now when your friend gets all your info they can just send you their contact card! In under thirty seconds you just exchanged as much or as little info with a fellow iPhoner!

Two quick tips:

1. If you give a lot of people your number. Have a two contact cards. For example, have a card named Rabah Rahil as your in-depth contact and Rabah R as your name, number and picture, thats it . I have a pretty in-depth contact card : Address, Facebook Profile URL, Picture, Birthday, iPhone, Email, so I have two contacts cards and only send my in-depth contact to people I know. Below is what the recipient will see and they can just press on it and create a new contact or merge with an existing one (the Email looks similar).

2. Use Spotlight to navigate to your Contact Card. It’s so much faster all you have to do is press the home button once if you are on the 1st screen or twice if you are on any other screen. Type in your name and up pops your contact card!

Now if you are at a party and exchanging info you don’t have to write it down on the bar napkin you can just share your contact with your fellow iPhone owner (only works for people who have an iPhone). What they don’t have an iPhone? Don’t waste your time with getting their contact info, Remember iPhone users have the most sex!

So here is what you will need for your setup:

iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch

Wi-Fi Network – Pretty sure everyone has one of these

A connection between your computer and your stereo e.g I use this Bluetooth Adapter for my setup, but if you have a laptop or if your computer is nearby I would recommend using the headphone port with RCA cable adapter. Here is one for $5 shipped – Headphone to RCA Cable Adapter

Another route you can go is buying Apple’s Express Base Station, which is $99, instead of the bluetooth($60-$80). If you got the money that’s what I would recommend because my bluetooth can sketch out sometimes, it works like 95-97% of the time, where as the Express Base Station would be 100% of the time.
